      It is estimated that the World Travel & Tourism economy employs 234,305,000 people and accounts for 8.7% of total employment.

      The opportunities for graduates are very exciting, not to mention their potential involvement in a significant worldwide event which needs talented and enthusiastic Tourism graduates. There are many projects and management opportunities on local and national levels that they can become involved in.

      This exciting course provides student with a strong foundation in hospitality management with emphasis on tourism management and looks at the sources and types of opportunities available within this fast growing industry. Courses at this level are designed to meet the present and future industry needs for managers, executives and other professionals. The students will be at the forefront of the Tourism industry’s latest developments, issues and initiatives. They will develop their management, research and analytical skills to be able to operate at a high level within the industry. This qualification will open up excellent job prospects, giving the students the advantage over others.

      Travel, Tourism and Hospitality course that is being offer by Optima International College is recognized by MOHE (Ministry of Higher Education). The programmes are approved by MQA (Malaysia Qualification Agency) and OUM (Open University of Malaysia). This programme , in cooperates subjects from Travel, Tourism and Hospitality as to expose the students in all 3 sectors in this fast growing industry.

      The duration of the programme is 2 years with 6 months internship in Singapore. Students can also travel to New Zealand for their Bachelor in Hospitality Management at Wellington.

      1. 2. CERTIFICATE IN TOURISM / HOSPITALITY

       

      Course Outline

      This course provides school leavers with a strong foundation in hospitality management with emphasis on tourism management. Graduates may be employed as support staff in areas of work related to the hospitality industry, e.g. in tour or travel agencies, tourist attractions, resorts, hotels or restaurants. 

      This course is comprised of the following 9 subjects and each of the subjects is designed to build logically on students’ knowledge so that they can monitor their own progress as they work through the course material. The students do not need to know anything about the subject before they start.

      Each new study topic adds to the knowledge they have already gained, and they should be able to complete the entire course within approximately in 12 months.
